Arsenal rule North London! The Gunners earned the bragging rights against their biggest rivals with a memorable 3-1 win that’s sure to enter the red and whites’ folklore. It was a fantastic day for Arsenal who deserved the win, much to the delight of boss Mikel Arteta and jubilant fans at the packed Emirates.A perfect storm of a first-half performance utterly humiliated Spurs and ensured a victory that the visitors could only attempt to tarnish with a feeble attempt at a comeback.Spurs had a day to forget as they kept losing the opposition’s dangermen and were punished for their mistakes by a merciless home team. Their manager Nuno Espirito Santo looked like a lost man as he watched his team ship goal after goal. After three games, Arsenal were in last place in the Premier League whilst Tottenham were first. Now Arsenal are above Spurs 📈 pic.twitter.com/qYqLBmb9H4— ESPN FC (@ESPNFC) September 26, 2021 Emile Smith Rowe opened the scoring by side-footing the simplest of goals after being left unmarked in the middle of the box. He got onto the end of a square pass from Bukayo Saka. It was a dream goal for the Gunners as they watched two Arsenal academy graduates combine to break Spurs’ hearts in the biggest of fixtures.Just as the visitors began building some sort of pressure, they were made to suffer yet again. Granit Xhaka played a great ball into the path of Smith Rowe who put in a lovely ball for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to bundle in at the far post and double the lead. The Gabonese striker paid homage to the club legend Thierry Henry, in attendance today, with a familiar goal celebration – the same one Henry himself had when he scored against the old enemy at Highbury in 2002. His mazy run was only temporarily stopped by a challenge from the hard-working Harry Kane, but the younger of the England internationals picked himself up quickly before calmly slotting past Spurs skipper Hugo Lloris. It was 3-0 and Spurs were wishing they’d stayed in bed.Thierry Henry at the game today with a retro Arsenal shirt on. pic.twitter.com/mnZvfb8Nwl— Photos of Football (@photosofootball) September 26, 2021 Saka’s goal meant that Spurs have conceded three or more goals in three consecutive Premier League matches for the first time since September 2003. And looking at their movement on the Emirates pitch, you’d probably think that this was the worst Tottenham side in at least a decade. There was around an hour of football yet to be played at Emirates, but you could already tell that only one team would celebrate.Arsenal did let their concentration slip late on as they allowed Spurs to pull one back through Son Heung-min with just over ten minutes left. Despite trying their best to force another goal and an unlikely close ending, Espirito Santo and his men were nowhere near to getting a Premier League win at this stadium – just as they couldn’t get one in the past 11 years.5 – Son Heung-Min has been directly involved in five goals in his last four Premier League games against Arsenal, scoring three times and providing two assists. It was a day to savour for North London’s red and whites.PREMIER LEAGUE – ROUND 6SaturdayChelsea – Man.City 0-1 (0-0)/Jesus 53/Man.Utd. – Aston Villa 0-1 (0-0)/Hause 88/Watford – Newcastle 1-1 (0-1)/Sarr 72 – Longstaff 23/Leeds – West Ham 1-2 (1-0)/Raphinha 19 – Firpo 67 og, Antonio 90/Everton – Norwich 2-0 (1-0)/Townsend 29 pen, Doucoure 77/Leicester – Burnley 2-2 (1-2)/Vardy 37, 85 – Vardy 12 og, Cornet 40/Brentford – Liverpool 3-3 (1-1)/Pinnock 27, Janelt 63, Wissa 82 – Jota 31, Salah 54, Jones 67/SundaySouthampton – Wolverhampton 0-1 (0-0)/Jimenez 61/Arsenal – Tottenham 3-1 (3-0)/Smith Rowe 12, Aubameyang 27, Saka 34 – Son 79/
