AFC Leopards assistant coach Tom Juma insists the team has to be beefed up and hopes that the transfer ban slapped on the team by FIFA will be lifted before the transfer window closes on 20th October.Ingwe was banished from signing players by the world football governing body for failing to pay their former players and coaches. The amount owed to the players and coaches amounts to millions and the team is currently struggling to raise the money, and this has resulted in the ban remaining intact.Ingwe have also lost a number of key players due to their financial struggles that have resulted in them not paying their players for a couple of months, the departees include; Robinson Kamura who joined KCB, Harrison Mwendwa who moved to Kabwe Warriors of Zambia, Elvis Rupia who moved to Saudi Arabia, Hansel Ochieng and Tsuma Said who relocated to Sofapaka, Clyde Senaji who has since joined Sofapaka among others. The latest to be linked with a departure is captain Isaac Kipyegon who is being trailed by Tusker FC.🎥| What about this finish by Musa Saad of @AFCLeopards against @tusker_fc #FKFPL pic.twitter.com/UeCxE7ueOB— FKF Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) September 27, 2021 The team started the 2021/22 season positively when they defeated Tusker FC 1-0 in Thika but despite the triumph, Juma insists that they need to beef up the squad. He says the team needs to be strengthened in all departments and hopes that FIFA will allow the club to bring onboard new players.“We have already been hit by the ban; this is a top-tier league and the youth are not used to this level, we pray that FIFA will allow us to sign players like our rivals. The current team needs a boost in all disciplines: from the goalie to the leading line and given a chance, we already have our targets in all the positions,” he told the Citizen Digital. The league takes a three-week break and will resume on 15th October.
