Ghanaian midfielder Stephen Opoku settled the Bukhungu class to give Mwalala a perfect start as the Kakamega-based side, head coach.Despite picking maximum points in the game, the former Nzoia Sugar and Bandari FC head coach admits there are areas to work on and that they will use the three-week break to fine-tune the team before their next assignment against Wazito FC.✅| Full TimeKakamega Homeboyz get off their campaign to the perfect start against new boys Kenya Police#HomeboyzVsPolice#FKFPL pic.twitter.com/iG6xz37ear— FKF Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) September 26, 2021 “This break is good for us because there are a number of things that we still have to work on. We have new players in the team who are still adapting and as such I believe that the break has come at the right time for us and we are going to maximize on it,” he stated.Mwalala says they will have to work on their finishing after throwing away so many opportunities against the law enforcers, he also says they have to remain focused when things are not going their way as he saw his team getting frustrated at Bukhungu.“Yesterday we created so many chances but we could not convert them. For example, in the opening 20 minutes we had around five clear-cut chances which we didn’t make use of and that is something that concerns me because there are games that you will not get many chances and you will need to make use of the one or two that comes your way. We are now going to work on our finishing both in training and maybe in friendly matches, I believe that we will be better when the league resumes. We also have to learn to remain patient when things are not working because against Police we were getting frustrated when we kept missing the opportunities,” he added. The league takes a 20-day break, we will be back in action on 17th October against Kakamega Homeboyz.#Wazito4life pic.twitter.com/Ko0ifts77I— Wazito Football Club (@wazitofc) September 27, 2021 Despite the problems that he picked in the game, the youthful tactician was contented with the win“We did not play badly, we were dominant but at the same time was not an easy game because Police were a little confident and believed that they could get something out of the game but fortunately we got that one goal that won us the game and we now focus on our future assignments,” he concluded.Homeboyz’s next assignment will be against Wazito on 17th October.
