Football Kenya Federation player transfer window set for November closure

With the new 2021/2022 Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) season upon us, teams have been busy reinforcing their squads in the currently opened transfer window in a bid to challenge reigning champions Tusker to this season’s crown. While some teams, notably Wazito and Tusker, have made impressive signings in the current window, other’s such as AFC Leopards and Sofapaka have been unable to add to their ranks or register their new signings because of a transfer ban imposed on the clubs by FIFA. In matchday 1, Batoto ba Mungu had to play with only three players on the substitutes bench due to being ineligible to sign their new players.Nyakeya is happy to reunite with the man he credits for his rise #FKFPLTransfers https://t.co/IJrshYlhRv— Mozzart Sport Kenya (@MozzartSportKe) September 24, 2021 While the loyal Ingwe fanbase could be worried for not seeing new faces to their largely junior squad, there is light at the end of the tunnel should the club sort out its embargo in time as the transfer window still has one more month before it closes. In a statement released by Football Kenya Federation, the window that opened in August is set to run till 29th October for International transfers and 1st November for domestic transfers.“The international transfer window opened on Monday, 9th August 2021 and shall close Friday, 29th October 2021 at 2359Hrs.”“The Domestic transfer window shall remain open from Monday, 23rd August 2021 at midnight until Monday, 1st November 2021 at 1700Hrs,” the statement read.FKF Premier League takes eighteen-day break after just one round of gamesCurrently, after just one round of matches played in the new season, the league is on an eighteen day break to allow new Harambee Stars head coach Engin Firat ample time to train with the team ahead of back to back 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Mali in October.
