Aliou Cisse still enjoys the FSF confidence: A new contract and $600,000 to deliver the AFCON

Senegalese Football Association agreed to extend Aliou Cisse’s contract. The former defender will be in charge of the Teranga Lions for two more years – and some hefty goals for the legendary footballer.Cisse, who captained Senegal at the 2002 World Cup, became the national team’s coach in 2015 and this is the second time his contract has been renewed. He will be in charge of the team until the end of the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast. Cisse’s set goals are to qualify for the World Cup and to win the next AFCON. It’s a big ask, but Senegal finally look like one of the main contenders to finally win Africa’s most precious title. They have got some in-form players in their prime. Sadio Mane, Ismaila Sarr, Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly and Idrissa Gana Gueye are having a strong start to the season.
