Devastating news came from South America about passing of former kickboxing world champion Jorge “Acero” Cali at the age of 49. The Argentine star was found dead at hotel in La Pampa on Sunday morning.
According to reports the cause of death would have been cardiac arrest. Arrived emergency wasn’t able to revive him.
“Acero” Cali was in a province in central Argentina together with Marcos “El Chino” Maidana, where they promoted a night of boxing on Saturday.
“Chino” Maidana, former WBA super lightweight and welterweight champion and one of the biggest boxing names from Argentina, posted on Twitter the words of appreciation to his friend, saying “they would lift Chino Maidana Promotions to the highest possible level in memory of Jorge ‘Acero’ Cali”.

Jorge “Acero” Cali is a former WKN World super cruiserweight champion. His resume includes three successful title defenses. He also competed in MMA.
