Marcelo grabs clean sheet as AIK go joint top in Sweden as Dunga tastes defeat for Tosu

Kenyan internationals in Eric ‘Marcelo’ Ouma and Ismael Dunga had a mixed bag of outcomes when their two respective teams took to the pitch in league matches played on Sunday evening. Here is a wrap of how the action went down.Eric ‘Marcelo’ OumaThe Harambee Stars international managed to register a league clean sheet for the first time since 13th September as his AIK side returned to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 win registered against Djurgarden in a Swedish top tier match played at Friends Arena.Coming into the match AIK had gone on a two match winless run and had conceded at least one goal in their last three games. On Sunday evening, though, a Nicolas Marcelo Steffaneli strike deep into first half stoppage time was all that AIK ended up needing to take all the three points against their opponents. Minutes after scoring, with emotions running high, Steffaneli who was on an initial yellow card was sent off for tearing his shirt during the celebrations for the goal. With the morale boosting win, AIK went joint top of the log with Djurgarden whom they have now tied with on 44 points.

Ismail DungaFor the first time since 18th August, Dunga made an appearance for his Japanese side Sagan Tosu. With his team trailing 3-0 against Tokushima, the striker was brought on in the 71st minute to try and have an effect on the game. That was however not to be as his side went on to lose the game with the similar scoreline, a second consecutive defeat in as many matches.#サガン鳥栖 0-3 #徳島ヴォルティス【IN】#ファンソッコ #ドゥンガ🔁【OUT】#飯野七聖 #酒井宣福 🖥#DAZN▶️ https://t.co/6ZqypcD1vs#Jリーグ #FullPower pic.twitter.com/o3OCGChzxt— サガン鳥栖公式 (@saganofficial17) October 3, 2021 With the loss, Tosu failed to close the gap on the top five positions as they stayed in seventh on 51 points.
