Omalla toiling to banish Swedish bad dream

They say, true champions are measured by their ability to bounce back after a slip. How they react after a moment that threatened to ruin their whole existence and ‘name’. How, like a phoenix bird, they can rise from the ashes and recalibrate themselves for what is to come.If there’s a man that has heeded the call to come out of the dark alleys, it has to be Gor Mahia’s prodigy Benson Omalla.Back in March, the foward who shot to prominence in the 2019-2020 season agreed a six month loan deal with with Swedish side FC Linkoping City. But barely one month into the loan deal with the third tier side, the Kisumu Day alumnus terminated his stay with the club citing boiled over frustrations after being played out of position, a move that was not appreciated by many to say the very least.“I have been forced to return home because of frustration. I was being played out of position and could not take it anymore,” he said in a previous interview.Benson Omalla has returned home coz his contract with Linkoping City was not fulfilled. The decision to return home was decided after discussing with the player. Momentum he intends to use to propel himself out of the dark chambers of disappointment before going one step further.”I feel as if I have gotten another chance to redeem myself before going a level further again. I just want to keep my head high and to stay focused towards achieving my targets this season. I’ve set a personal target of being among the top goal scorers in the league and I know I can achieve it,” the player told Mozzart Sport.📰| How Many Goals will he score this season after an impressive start for @OfficialGMFC ?Benson Omalla#FKFPL pic.twitter.com/zfviU5hsCn— FKF Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) October 2, 2021 “What I need to do now is just to concentrate and to put in the work. Last season, it was a bit hard for me to do so because I had school commitments on top of football. Now that I am done with school, I just want to focus on football this season and to gauge myself at the end of the campaign.”Currently, Omalla is the league’s joint top scorer with Bandari’s Whyvonne Isuza who also scored two goals. It is at that top spot, that come the end of the season, Omalla will be hoping to stay.
