Vihiga Bullets have roped in two new players in a bid to to beef up their squad even as coach Evans Mafuta continues to adapt to life in the top flight.Bullets made their top-flight bow a week ago against Bidco United, a game that ended in a barren draw, and coach Mafuta had intimated that he would be strengthening his team by bringing in some new faces.“We have a good team but we have to strengthen because to play in the top league you must have a competitive squad. We have to get a goalkeeper; we need at least one more keeper. We also need to beef up our defensive line, which means all positions at the back. I think I am okay with my midfield, the other areas that we have to strengthen are our attack, which means we will have to get a striker or two and after that, I think we will be good to go,” he stated.’Wonder’John Vincent Wanda leads out Vihiga Bullets FC for their first ever premier league match.Sept 25, 2021.#footke pic.twitter.com/5kzUPv2d3e— Footballers Of Our Time (@TransferMarktEA) September 26, 2021 Despite stating that he will not be beefing up his midfield, the tactician has in fact brought on board two midfielders, the first is Vihiga United’s long-serving captain Patrick Okulo.“We have signed Okulo from Vihiga United. As you all know he is a local boy, has KPL experience and we bring him on board to beef up our attacking midfield department. He brings experience and leadership to our team and I am happy to have him on board,” Mafuta told Mozzart Sport. Also joining the team is little known, Anthony Naibei who joins the club from Eldoret-based Division Two side, Westindies FC. Naibei is a defensive midfielder.“We have Naibei on board as well. He is a player I have watched severally and I am confident that he has something to offer to the team. Of course, we will give him time to settle and learn but the quality is there and so it is a matter of adapting to the demands of the top tier,” he said.FULL TIME It ends in a stalemate at Bukhungu Stadium Vihiga Bullets 0 Bidco United 0#BulletsVsBidco#FKFPL pic.twitter.com/0iQbss1xSy— FKF Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) September 25, 2021 Bullets’ next league assignment will be against Posta Rangers.
