New Gor Mahia centre back Joshua Onyango is drawing inspiration from Frank Odhiambo’s quick rise in his bid to force his way to the starting team.Onyango joined his dream team in the country from Kariobangi Sharks but may have to wait longer for his debut in the green colours courtesy of the fierce competition in the central defence.Gor head coach Mark Harrison who has since converted Dennis Ng’ang’a, natural left back into a central defender has Harun Shakava, and Joachim Oluoch in the department. If he made it, I will also make it when given the chance. I always talk to him and work hard and hopefully, the coach will notice my efforts and rope me in his team,” he said.The 19-year old made his top flight bow in February after Sharks signed him from Division One side Nairobi Stima who by then were in the second tier on a three-year contract.He says his move to Gor had the blessings of Sharks bosses whom he is grateful for letting him join a team he grew up supporting and wishing to play for.How Onyango made his way into Sharks starting team”Joining Gor is a dream come true for me for it the team I have been backing throughout and will put on the shirt with pride.
