Tanzanian Premier League gets new 119 million sponsorship deal a year

Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) have announced National Bank of Commerce (NBC) as their new Premier League sponsor after both parties agreed on a three-year Premier League sponsorship deal worth $1,084,600 (circa Ksh. 119,739,840) per season. In the new deal, however, the amount is believed to have dropped slightly from the amount previous sponsors, Vodacom Tanzania, used to offer. The telecommunications company were reported to be paying around USD 1.3 million every season when they agreed on a three-year deal back in 2019 compared to the USD 1.08 million being offered by the bankers. In June 2021, Vodacom however cut short their sponsorship after incurring huge losses which forced them into terminating their contract.Karibu NBC TANZANIAKaribu NBC PREMIER LEAGUE#NBCPL2021_22 #NBCPremierLeague@tplboard @Tanfootball #NBCTanzania pic.twitter.com/yjxw0Lfqf5— Tanzania Premier League Board (@tplboard) October 6, 2021 “Football is a sport that has a really huge following here at home.
