Skillful Nzoia Sugar midfielder Gaetan Masha says that an improved package offered by the club orchestrated the collapse of his move to Kakamega Homeboyz. The pacy winger was on the verge of ditching the sugar millers for Homeboyz having agreed on personal terms but the former’s purse played a crucial role in blocking the move. The Congolese national who alongside his teammate Felicien Okanda came through the Kakuma Refugeee Camp team has been under the radar of several top flight teams but he says he opted to remain under coach Ibrahim Shikanda in a bid to repay the faith the management showed in him. “I would have joined Homeboyz few weeks ago but Nzoia blocked the move. The summoned me for discussion and they agreed to meet my demands that included improved pay. Considering that I have a year left, and with the love they have shown me for the past two seasons, I decided to stay, ” he revealed.With his mind settled, Masha disclosed that his intentions of firing Nzoia who began the season on the wrong footing after bowing 1-0 to Ulinzi Stars in round one to a top ten finish. Further, he revealed his plans to score more goals and help the club do better this season.”We have been surviving relegation for some seasons now but this season we have to do better. We have to compete for a top ten finish this time round.
