Gerrard and Lampard among the top candidates to sit in the dugout of Saudi-fueled Newcastle

Poor old Steve Bruce. The guy is still in charge of the Magpies, but, apparently, no one gives him the slightest chance to continue his work at the stadium formerly known as St James’ Park. (2.15) GABON (3.00) ANGOLA (3.50)He has been Newcastle United manager for the last three years. However, now when the Saudi sheikh took over the club from a previous owner Mike Ashley, the time has come for a full wind of change that will, obviously, sweep off everyone around, Bruce included.Steve Bruce as the NUFC manager (© Ian MacNicol/Getty Images)His successors are already a subject of many talks. Still, it’s difficult to foresee which of those names are most likely to join the Geordies in the club’s new era. As per British bookmakers, two of maybe finest English midfielders of the 21st century are among the top candidates to replace Bruce in the NUFC dugout: Steven Gerrard – The former Liverpool captain and a true legend enjoys his days with Glasgow Rengers, which have won their first league title after a decade-long drought led by Stevie G. For the guy of such a reputation, it would be easy to find even more attractive job. The Newcastle vacancy could be just the challenge he needs at the moment.Gerrard doesn’t want Liverpool job, backs KloppFrank Lampard – After a disappointing Chelsea exit, Gerrard’s once-teammate in the Three Lions squad is jobless and desperate to put his coaching career back on track. Without a single silverware as a tactician, Lampard is far away from repeating his playing achievements. However, the fact he’s available at the moment could prove crucial. He didn’t succeed with his CFC… Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge (©Catherine Ivill/Getty Images)Antonio Conte – His Internaziole was such a pleasure to watch, but it didn’t prevent him from parting ways with Neroazzurri following their championship title. Conte’s commitment to super offensive 3-4-3 formation promises a lot of excitement on and around the pitch if he gets involved in the Newcastle rebuilding. Like Lampard, he is at disposal too.Lukaku to Conte: “You changed me as a player”Roberto Martinez – The current tactician of the world’s best national team (at least, as per FIFA ratings), seems incapable of delivering any silverware. The Spaniard is being touted as a potential replacement for Ronald Koeman at Barcelona and may want to hold out for that instead. How much does it take for Roberto Martinez to be sacked?Eddie Howe – Last but not least, Howe could be that dark horse in this race. The least known coach in the list left Bournemouth in 2020, departing the freshly relegated side and is keen to return to the Premier League. Despite being an English-born coach, his football philosophy is close to Conte’s. But he seems pretty unattractive, though for the new, glary Toon future. The dark horse… Eddie Howe (©Catherine Ivill/Getty Images)
