Mino Raiola is shaking his hands and can’t wait for January to arrive. With the first day of the transfer window, the super-agent will be able to start negotiations about his biggest client – Erling Haaland. As of 2022, a new price for Borussia Dortmund striker kicks in, and it’s apparently a clause of around 10 billion Ksh, a much lower sum then the other which Raiola asked for in June, when he tried to lure other clubs. Back then, with Borussia refusing to sell, Raiola found a price which he thought would be acceptable even for Dortmund. In the end, it was around 18.5 billion, but nobody budged. They all know about the 10 billion clause. And a new club just announced to Raiola that they would like to negotiate in January – Manchester City.Dortmund offer to double Haaland’s wages – just so they could keep a hold of him for another seasonIt is obvious that the Premier League champions need the classic striker and after they failed to secure Harry Kane in June, Haaland is another option. The wealthy owner has the money needed for the transfer, and he could probably sell some players to facilitate the deal, as big stars like Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling first come to mind. Also, there are clubs who will probably be out of the race for the Norwegian, as Chelsea bought Romelu Lukaku, while Barcelona has no plans to enter the bidding war, mainly due to their financial struggle. PSG can enter the race in case they lose Mbappe to Real, and Raiola had a fruitful cooperation with the Parisians before (Donnarumma, Marco Veratti and former player Zlatan Ibrahimovic), unlike Real Madrid, who are yet to sign any of his clients. In case Florentino Peres signs Mbappe, he will likely pass on Haaland, and his agent’s huge demands. On the other hand, City are also playing on Haaland’s ’emotions’, since his father Inge played for the Citizens and Erling had numerous pictures in a City shirt as a kid. The personal dislike between Raiola and coach Pep Guardiola won’t be an issue, if they can come to an agreement. The 21-year-old Haaland has a relentless scoring record with Dortmund, hitting 68 goals in 67 appearances so far since joining the Bundesliga outfit from Red Bull Salzburg in 2020.
