Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the CJ Cup is once again state-side. Last year, Jason Kokrak lifted the trophy after a final round 64, inching out Xander Schauffele by two shots at Shadow Creek. This time around, the best players in the world are headed to The Summit Club, a private course located in Las Vegas.
Most of the field are seeing the golf course for the first time, but two players, Collin Morikawa and Maverick McNealy, are members of Summit.
“There’s a sense of comfort, right? I’m comfortable with a lot of tee shots, I’m comfortable with the approaches, I know where the greens break, I know where to miss the shots,” Morikawa said during his press conference Tuesday, “so hopefully we can execute the shots this week.”
