FKF to be audited after Government directive

Sports Cabinet Secretary Amb Amina Mohamed on Friday 15 October issued a green light for a financial audit to be carried out on the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).Sports Registrar Rose Wasike has been tasked with conducting the audit that is expected to last not more than two weeks and comes a day after Mwendwa lost his bid to block his possible arrest and prosecution in the High Court.A press release seen by Mozzart Sport confirmed the directive by Amina to audit the financial activities of the federation. Nick Mwendwa will now face DCI and explain the corruption and mismanagement of monies at FKF.— Lord Abraham Mutai (@ItsMutai) October 15, 2021 FKF is alleged to have lost millions after its insolvent supplier WTS Media Group Limited listed them as an unsecured creditor.Back in June this year Auditor General Nancy Gathungu queried Ksh11 million in payments to Mwendwa without requisite documents or authorisation.Also queried were payments worth Ksh 57 million in allowances and bonuses to Harambee Stars players and the technical bench for the team that travelled for African Cup of Nations camps.In the report, Gathungu flagged Ksh111.6 million that was approved for disbursement to cater for accommodation and team allowances and also questioned Ksh529.9 million disbursed to organisations that are not registered by the Commissioner of Sports.
