Kenya Police FC and Nairobi City Stars will be seeking their maiden point in the league this season when the two teams meet at Kasarani later today after they both lost in their opening matches to Kakamega Homeboyz and Sofapaka respectively.Police have added to their artillery in the close to three weeks that league action has been halted, with Clifton Miheso, John Mark Makwatta and Duncan Otieno being the high profile inclusions.City Stars on the other hand had one of the most silent transfers’ bringing in only Mike Madoya, Dennis Wanjala and Lennox Ogutu to add to their squad and Nicholas Muyoti will be seeking to open a points tally for his new club after being appointed to take charge. The meeting will be a historical one as the two teams have not met in the top flight and this will be their first-ever meeting though they have done so in the lower league.Nairobi City Stars CEO Patrick Korir says his team will be looking to turn around their season opener result”An unknown game completely but in the season that City Stars got promoted they did a double over Police and of course, they will want to continue from there. But the moment a team comes to the Premier League, you do not want to be in the lower reaches of the league which means you have to come out guns blazing, literally for Police. They have also recruited well. City Stars are coming from a fault start and of course, they will be looking to turn around that result,” Korir said.📰|Matchday@kenyapolicefc vs @NrbCityStars in Kasarani from 3pm#FKFPL pic.twitter.com/PWZgcdpOLM— FKF Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) October 16, 2021 The match was initially set for Ruaraka Grounds but was moved to Kasarani Annex following the unavailability of the initial venue.Police Coach Bobby Ogolla understands the intensity of the Premier League and how delicate it is to make errors, noting that they will approach this game with all the seriousness that it deserves and they are going for the kill.”It is unfortunate that we lost the first game which we shouldn’t have lost, the worst would have been a draw. In between, we have had three weeks and we are playing again. The people we are playing against lost heavier than us but that is not the yardstick to gauge how we are going to play them. In the Premier League, it is a stage where a simple mistake will cost you and a simple one by the opponent will motivate you to win. we are approaching this game with a lot of seriousness and we are going to play to win,” the experienced coach said.⏬ MATCHDAY | FKF – PL ROUND 2🗓 | Saturday 16th October 2021🆚 Kenya Police FC 🚨🏆 | FKF-PL⏰ | 1500hrs🏟 | Kasarani Stadium#𝕊𝕚𝕞𝕓𝕒𝕎𝕒ℕ𝕒𝕚𝕣𝕠𝕓𝕚BETTER MUST COMEFollow us on Nairobi City Stars FC for all updates. pic.twitter.com/tT0NzdBKK5— Official Nairobi City Stars Fc (@NrbCityStars) October 16, 2021 Ogolla is also banking on the League experience of their new signings to help the team all round this season, starting with the game against Nairobi City Stars.”The break has been a blessing because we finished the league and after one week we played the first game. We even after a postponement but it was denied. I believe the three weeks we have rested have really given us time to look for new players and even train with them. I think it has helped us a lot. The boys who are coming in are coming in with a lot of experience to guide these young boys. Most of them have only played in the Super League but I have told them that when we join hands together we always learn from one another, even them can learn from us but we expect them to hold the hands of these other ones and help us cross to the other side and win. I am sure their inclusion is going to earn a lot of strength in our team in terms of everything, especially in our objective playing at this level, it is not easy but it is not difficult also. we just have to have enough confidence, because we are here by right, not by chance. We go and do what we know,” he added. The match kicks off at 3 PM.
