Luanda Villa coach and former AFC Leopards player Tom Tera has received an offer to join Vihiga Bullets as their assistant coach but the tactician is uncertain on his next move after missing out on an opportunity to step up to the National Super League (NSL). Vihiga Bullets recently brought in Evans Mafuta to take charge of the team following the exit of Edward Manoah before the season began. Villa had come close to earning the automatic first place qualification spot as winners Mara Sugar finished only one point ahead of them with 59 points. They lost to Assad 2-1 in the promotion play-off match played at Toyoyo on Sunday 17 October. Speaking after the defeat, Tera said that missing an NSL spot could be a blow for the team because putting all the players together will be such a task as teams will be going for their best players after their performance in the just-concluded season, adding that he had also received an offer to leave the team which put him at crossroads.”Putting this team together will be a hard task. I also had got an offer to go and be the assistant coach at Vihiga Bullets so it leaves me confused whether to stick with them or leave,” Tera said. The Moi Golden Cup winner, as a player, rued concentration lapses in their defeat to SS Assad, noting that they gave away very easy goals in the play-off that they should not have.He added that his dream was to see the team play in the NSL after the stellar season they had, with the miss leaving a sour taste in his mouth.”The game was not bad but I blame my players for the concentration which was a bit low. We gave away very easy goals but they have tried to get where they have got. Moving forward we shall go back to the drawing board to see how things will go. I feel bad because I have come from far with these boys and I wanted them to play in the NSL because we have played against teams like Tusker and Ulinzi and gave them a hard time,” he added.Luanda Villa finished second in the FKF Division One Zone B behind Mara Sugar who earned an automatic ticket to the NSL.We have lost but well played boys, we live to fight, Thanks to who Supported us, May God bless you. pic.twitter.com/6EIADoKW2j— Luanda Villa Football Club (@LuandaClub) June 5, 2021 They also had a good run in the FKF Cup, making it to the last 16 where they were bundled out narrowly by Tusker FC in a tightly contested match.
