Immediate former Simba Queens FC forward Bertha Omita has joined Kenyan Women Premier League side, Gaspo FC, the skillful attacker has confirmed.Omita, who terminated his contract with Simba after just one season due to personal reasons has been training with his former side, Kisumu All-Starlets to keep fit and she has now completed a switch to the Kiambu-County based women Premier League side.The attacker expressed her delight at joining Gaspo whom she described as one of the biggest women teams in the country. She admitted that there will be stiff competition in the team but she is ready to fight for her place in the team.“I am delighted to be joining Gaspo because it is one of the big teams in the Kenyan Women Premier League. There are so many talented players in the team and so I join there ready to compete to earn my place in the team, I am looking forward to playing a part in the team’s success,” she told Mozzart Sport.The WPL will be a unified league unlike in the last few years where it was played in a zonal format and Omita is excited about the opportunity to play the biggest teams in the country.“It is exciting to be back and also because this time the top league is one and so we will be playing the best teams from across the country. She is also capped with the national team, Harambee Starlets.
