Nairobi City Stars extended Wazito’s winless run in the league after beating the Francis Kimanzi-led team 3-1 in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) match played at the Thika Sub-County Stadium on Thursday afternoon.City Stars looked strong in the opening minutes of the game, as they looked for an early breakthrough. They won a couple of corner kicks which they failed to make count of.The closest they came to breaking the deadlock was in the 12th minute when Davies Agesa found space inside the area but shot directly at young Bixente Otieno in goal. Next was Anthony Kimani in the 20th minute but the veteran midfielder was denied by the young Wazito keeper. Cliff Nyakeya rattled the upright in the 42nd minute after connecting to a James Kinyanjui pass, Amos Asembeka narrowly skied his effort in added minutes of the first half.The first stanza, which had wholly been dominated by the hosts ended barren.Unlike the first half, the second was largely balanced. Wazito had a good chance in the 57th minute when Levin Odhiambo cut in from the left, his resultant right-foot shot was feeble and Jacob Osano saved it. Kennedy Onyango opened the scoring for City Stars in the 77th minute and a minute later Ouma made it 2-0. Michael Owino got on the score-sheet for Wazito in the 79th minute to ensure that the tie was far from over.
