Kenyan champions Tusker have a potentially punitive date with five-time African champions Zamalek as they bid to overturn a one goal deficit in the CAF Champions League second preliminary round clash on Friday. The mission is possible according to their forward Boniface Muchiri. As Tusker went down 1-0 in the first leg encounter in Nairobi, Muchiri had a couple of chances to grab a positive result for Tusker even in the first half but was a bit wasteful.🗣️| Lion has a Message for everyone. #KenyaMilele #Brewers4Life pic.twitter.com/bqHHKeQ6Xe— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) October 21, 2021 The speedy forward now feels that they have a mission to complete against the Egyptians to at least get the chance to feature in group stage of the continental competition after correcting their mistakes in the initial encounter.”We are really motivated. We are happy to be here. We have a mission as we have come from far. We really want to give a good performance on Friday and have a positive result in the end. We will carry the morale that we had in training to the match. I know we will give a good performance and get a positive result,” Muchiri said.Being the first game that he played against Zamalek, Muchiri went ahead to reveal that it was a tough out coming up against the Egyptian Champions.⚽️| The work continues here in Alexandria.#KenyaMilele #Brewers4Life pic.twitter.com/RRz5lHL40U— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) October 20, 2021 He also added that there was no sense in saying that the team played well yet they lost, preferring that they would have won even if they played badly. The former Nzoia Sugar winger also issued a rallying call to his teammates to fight harder and stick to the basics in the game on Friday to ensure that they progress to the group stage.”It was my first game against them, it was really tough. Playing well and losing a game are two different things. Personally, it is better we play bad and win the game. There is no point in saying we have lost but we played well, it does not add up. We lost as a team but I believe if we fight harder and give our best we shall get the result we want. We will make sure that we are playing football, that we are making the right decisions, at the right time, doing the right things, playing simple football, and following the instructions of the coach. We are going to fight as a te so that we get results and play in the group stage,” he added.Tusker is taking on Naivas and I have to say I’m quite impressed with the football being displayed. The brewers’ attacking talent is going to be menacing this season. Timothy Otieno, George Blackberry, Jackson Macharia and Boniface Muchiri will cause havoc.#GameIbambe pic.twitter.com/hAkwdV8Cr8— Elijah Ouko (@elijah_ouko) August 28, 2019 Tusker will be looking to overturn the 1-0 defeat on Friday at the Borg El Arab Stadium starting at 8 PM EAT.
