Immediate former Kakamega Homeboyz midfielder Abdallah Wankuru has begun the hunt for a new home after unceremoniously parting ways with the club. Wankuru revealed that he elected to terminate his contract with the Bernard Mwalala-coached side after he was apparently neglected when he suffered a lengthy injury. The midfielder was sidelined early this year after fracturing his left toe in training a setback that saw him miss the better part of last season. The midfielder would later cross the border to Tanzania in a bid to seek treatment from his preferred doctor after failing to heal in line with the club doctor’s schedule. The former Sony Sugar player who disclosed that he had since recovered accused Homeboyz bosses of frustrating his quest to play elsewhere by denying him his release letter. He said his efforts to seek an audience and the intervention of the Football Kenya Federation player status committee were futile.👀 Player to watch: @KHomeboyz midfielder Abdallah WankuruThe talented midfielder who signed for Homeboyz has had a rather slow start to life in his new surroundings. He further accused the player of using unorthodox means in requesting his release letter and going mute on the club.Homeboyz midfielder out for the rest of the season“As far as we are concerned, the player is on sick leave and has been receiving his salaries despite not rendering services to the club. He went mute the moment he travelled to Tanzania and our efforts to monitor his progress have been futile,””If he is asking for a release letter it means that he is fit enough to play elsewhere and that shouldn’t be the case considering that he has a contract with us. We encourage him to follow the right channels,” he cleared the air.
