CAFCC: Shakava and Omalla tip K’Ogalo to get job done in return second leg clash

Gor Mahia captain and striker, Harun Shakava and Benson Omala respectively, have tipped the record Kenyan champions to get the job done when they host their return leg clash against Sudan’s Al-Ahly Merowe in the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup match slated for Sunday afternoon at Nyayo National Stadium.Despite only having sixteen players available for continental duty once again due to the club’s inability to register their new signings at the time when they were still serving a FIFA ban, Gor head into the second leg with a healthy advantage after they picked up a 1-3 away win in the first leg played in Egypt last Friday.🟢 | TRAINING SESSION Today’s training session @ Nyayo stadium as we engage top gear for tomorrow’s CAF match ⚽️ | 🆚️ Al Ahly 🗓 | Sunday, October 24🏟 | Nyayo stadium ⏰ | 4pm Tickets➡️ 500/= & 300/=… to be available tomorrow as from 10am. #Sirkal | #Betsafe pic.twitter.com/0qtsUVaext— GOR MAHIA FC (@OfficialGMFC) October 23, 2021 With the tie looking all but sealed for a K’Ogalo progression to the playoff round, Shakava reiterated the importance of the match as he outlined the type of competition he expects from the Sudanese outfit and what his side are keen to do in order to nullify the threat from them.“We know it will be a tough match for us because we won the first leg away and they will obviously want to fight back. We know we are not done yet with the tie and we are ready for the challenge that lies ahead. Our gameplan is to find early goals and not to concede tomorrow. Right now, we are just taking a game at a time and all our focus is on the second leg,” the captain said.Ambitious Harrison sets sights on Confederation Cup title with Gor MahiaOn the other hand, Omala, who scored one of the three goals in the first leg, called on his side to be cautious when it comes to getting complacent as all things look all but sure before the second leg. The striker who has banged three goals so far in his first three matches in all competitions in the 2021/2022 season also expressed his desire to continue his rich vein of form in front of goal in the game.“This season has started well for me when you compare it to last season that was really hard for me. Going into the return tie, we just need to concentrate and to keep our heads down in order to get the job done. I scored one goal in the first leg and I am eyeing another one or two tomorrow which will make it even better,” the prodigious talent remarked.🟢 | The captain Shakava and keeper Gad Mathews are all set for tomorrow ⚽️ | 🆚️ Al Ahly 🗓 | Sunday, Oct 24🏟 | Nyayo stadium ⏰ | 4pm Tickets➡️ 500/= & 300/=… to be available tomorrow as from 10am. #Sirkal | #Betsafe | #TotalEnergiesCAFCC pic.twitter.com/A2wIFcQWCp— GOR MAHIA FC (@OfficialGMFC) October 23, 2021 The game kicks off at 4PM.
