Mwalala elated by the return of the 12th man

Kakamega Homeboyz head coach Bernard Mwalala was elated to see fans back at the Bukhungu Stadium for the 2-0 win over Posta Rangers on Sunday.On Sunday, the Ministry of announced the return of fans to the stadia following government’s decision to ease Covid-19 prevention measures and on Sunday afternoon fans started to throng the Bukhungu hours before the game and by kick off, the stadium was buzzing with chants from football supporters.The fans were given a good welcome when Homeboyz overcame a resilient Posta to pick three points courtesy of goals from Francis Omondi and David Okoth and in his post-match interview, the former Kenyan international recognized the importance of having a packed stadium.We fall to defeat against @FcHomeboyz FT:- #KHFC 2️⃣-0️⃣ #PRFC Better luck next time 👏👏#WeAreTheMailMen pic.twitter.com/MIm6bzdtbX— Posta Rangers Football Club (@posta_rangers) October 24, 2021 “I am happy to see fans back and I urge fans to keep attending our matches because they give us that home advantage, the 12th man pushes the team well when at home and I want them to keep attending matches to support the boys,” he said.Reflecting on the win over the Mail-men, Mwalala hailed his players for the fighting spirit that they exhibited in what he expected to be a tough match against the Stanley Okumbi led team who had beaten Bandari in Mombasa a few days earlier.“I want to thank God for this win; I also want to congratulate my players for the fighting spirit they showed to enable us get these vital points. Before the game we anticipated that it would be a very tough one because they (Posta) had just beaten Bandari in Mombasa, a very difficult place to pick points.”##NAJAVA_MECA_5920502##He is also happy with the fact that they won and kept another clean sheet. Homeboyz are yet to concede a league goal this campaign.“Tactically and technically they are very good, they have experienced players as well and it was far from an easy game. My players fought well, scored and also kept yet another clean sheet, a third of the season and we keep fighting by working hard and building but so far I am satisfied,” he added.Next for Mwalala and his charges is a match against newbies Vihiga Bullets.
