Nzoia Sugar assistant captain Humphrey Katasi has admitted that the team has not found a forward good enough to fill in the void left by Hillary Simiyu who left the sugar millers for Ulinzi Stars.Simiyu was arguably the best revelation of last season as he bagged nine goals in the second leg, a return that saw the soldiers open their purse, beating other several suitors to his signature. The exit of Simiyu who had joined the club from Division One side Bungoma Superstars in February left Nzoia’s bench with budding duo of the versatile James Kibande and Titus Kapchanga as the only forwards.Nzoia who are among the three teams yet to celebrate a win in the league have scored a paltry two goals in four matches and have conceded six.Champions Tusker who have three matches in hand and Vihiga Bullets are also win-less.##NAJAVA_MECA_5918064##Katasi said the team was missing Simiyu’s services but tipped his successors to shake off the shyness in front of the goal and win matches for them going forward. “We wish we still had Simiyu with us but unfortunately he joined Ulinzi. Had we had him around, probably we would have won a game or two. The remaining forwards are young but have shown potential and one will soon find his scoring instincts and fill in the space left by Simiyu ,” said the former U20 goalkeeper. At the same time, Katasi who deputies Peter Gin backed the club to rise from their awful start and fight for a respectable finish.Katasi indebted to Oluoch for his meteoric riseThe former Solidarity Boy attributed the bad start to lack of cutting edge in the final third a concern the technical bench he said was working to find solutions. “The only problem we have is scoring and I am sure it will not last long. Once the bench gets solutions to the blunt striking front, we will back to our winning ways,” he added.
