Despite the league still currently running, Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano is hoping his side can secure an international friendly in the build-up to their CAF Confederation Cup Playoffs against Tunisian outfit CS Sfaxien. The Brewers have had a nightmare start to the season losing their opening two games of the season, a run that has left them anchored to the foot of the table with no points on board yet.Matano revealed that the team will look to test themselves against top clubs out of the country ahead of their Sunday 28 November clash against Sfaxien.FULL TIME at the Ruaraka Complex. We played against experienced teams but at least we learned something from the previous two games (Zamalek) and also in Djibouti,”“We have to look for strong friendly matches out of the country in order for the players to get exposure, the opposition is different so we have to get strong friendly matches to realise our mistakes,” said Matano.Tusker were handed a footballing lesson by Egyptian champions Zamalek SC in the CAF Champions League following a 5-0 drabbing which relegated them to the Confederation Cup.Matano highlighted his side’s struggles with the opening fixtures of previous seasons and asked his charges to step up following the double losses in the league this season. 📸| Not the best day in office yesterday, but we will bounce back.#KenyaMilele #Brewers4Life pic.twitter.com/waDxD9AOYP— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) October 28, 2021 “According to Tusker’s history, they have struggled to win their opening two matches but we will come out very strongly because we have to realise our mistakes and things have to change.”“The players have to work hard, we cannot continue repeating our mistakes every day, I brought in Macharia to inject more pace because he works so hard. Some of the players are still new and trying to adapt, by the third match we will be okay,” added Matano.
