Momanyi set to resume training next week

Tusker centre back Charles Momanyi is scheduled to resume training next week after recovering from a hamstring injury suffered during their CAF Champions League second round return leg away to Egyptian giants Zamalek.Momanyi was substituted hardly two minutes into the game after appearing to be uncomfortable and was subsequently withdrawn for the veteran midfielder Humprey Mieno. The Kenyan champions did not only lose Momanyi but also fell 4-0 to the White Knights to bid farewell to the continental’s crème de la crème inter-club tournament but will have an opportunity to redeem themselves in the Confederation Cup.Should they go past the playoff, the brewers will book a place in the group stages that attract millions of shillings in cash prize.📽️| Here is Charles Momanyi’s first interview as a Tusker FC player #KenyaMilele #Brewers4Life pic.twitter.com/Go4cUpRetH— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) August 28, 2021 Momanyi who joined the club in August from Gor Mahia disclosed that he was nearing full recovery and the doctor was convinced that he will be ready to start training next week.“The doctor says I will be fit enough to resume training next week. The pain has subsided after completing the prescribed drugs and exercises and I feel I am ready to engage the top gear in training,” said the CECAFA Senior Challenge winning defender. The former Kakamega Homeboyz defender said he returns to the team determined to help the club arrest their poor form in the league. The brewers remain win-less in the campaign after losing their opening two matches to AFC Leopards and FC Talanta in 1-0 and 2-1 score lines respectively. We are forced to make a change inside the first two minutes.
