Homeboyz going for the kill against Bullets

Kakamega Homeboyz head coach Bernard Mwalala says his team cannot afford to underrate Vihiga Bullets ahead of Sunday’s derby between the two Western-based teams.Homeboyz have begun the 2021/22 season strongly; they have won all the three matches that they have played this season. They are also the only side that is yet to concede a league goal. Bullets’ fortunes have however been different, they have found the going tough in the top tier and they have managed just one point in four matches. They have also conceded the most goals so far (9).On Sunday the two teams face off at the Bukhungu Stadium in a match that Homeboyz are clear favorites but Mwalala says they cannot afford such laxity lest they get stunned by the Evans Mafuta led team who are searching for their first top-tier win.Gor Mahia and Kakamega Homeboyz are the only two sides in the league that are yet to lose a point in the 2021/2022 FKFPL campaign so far. Both have played three and won three. We have prepared well and we head into the game in such of maximum points. They have started the season poorly but such teams tend to give their best in big matches and as such we have to be careful and give our best in that match,” he stated.##NAJAVA_MECA_5943107##On his team’s overall show so far this season, Mwalala says he is largely satisfied but wants his team to keep improving. He particularly wants his team to be more clinical in front of the opponents’ danger areas.“So far we are doing well and we have to continue working and improving all the time. We are yet to concede a goal and that means we are doing well defensively and we now have to maintain our defensive strength and also improve in attack. We have been creating many chances and we need to be sharper, take these chances and score many goals,” he added. The match will kick-off at 1 PM.
