League champions, Tusker FC will entertain Wazito FC at the Ruaraka Grounds on Saturday afternoon with both teams seeking their first wins of the 2021/22 FKF Premier League campaign. The Brewers have so far played two matches; losing both to AFC Leopards and FC Talanta respectively and are currently rock bottom in the log. Wazito on the other have played four matches, lost two to Kakamega Homeboyz and Nairobi City Stars. They registered draws in the other two matches against FC Talanta and Kariobangi Sharks. The match between the two sides pits the two top coaches in the league against each other. Robert Matano has three league titles to his name. He won them with Tusker (2) and Sofapaka (1). Robert Kimanzi has one league title, the one he won with Mathare United. He has been in charge of the national several stints, he was boss when Kenya attained its best-ever ranking (68) in December 2008.Match Day#Wazito4life pic.twitter.com/MAonFV8zBF— Wazito Football Club (@wazitofc) October 30, 2021 Tusker has never lost a league match to Wazito FC and Kimanzi will be seeking to end the undesirable run. Last season when the two teams met, the Brewers won the first leg 1-0 courtesy of a late Jackson Macharia goal while the second leg ended in a one-all draw.Heading into the match, coach Matano has already hinted that he will ring changes. He was particularly incensed by left-back Hillary Wandera whom he accused of being at fault for a number of goals they have been conceding in recent games.“The players have to realize their mistakes. We cannot keep repeating the same mistake every day, a wise person must change his mind. If we are losing a game in the same way, same position, same player and you are playing there how you do think? It means you are not ready for the match and we will do something better now,” the veteran coach said.📰|Matchday@tusker_fc vs @wazitofc in Ruaraka from 3pm#FKFPL pic.twitter.com/WaOuxGDrqj— FKF Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) October 30, 2021 Kimanzi on the other hand is positive heading into the game.“We have prepared very well for the game, we are very motivated. The mood in the camp has been good, we are working on the players’ confidence so that we can have a confident team and most importantly we have not had any injury issue this week and that is a positive for us,” he told the club media.
