Black and proud: Zaha receives disgusting racist messages after destroying Manchester City

Sadly, racist abuse is nothing new on the internet. Every vile person thinks that they are entitled to spread hatred just because modern technology and social networks enable them to do so. Crystal Palace hero Wilfried Zaha was targeted once more following his team’s amazing win against the Premier League champions on Saturday.EPL: Zaha and Mwepu ruin the day for Man City and Liverpool as Chelsea steers clearThe Ivory Coast international scored the first goal in an unexpected 2-0 win at Etihad Stadium, but a few mindless cretins still found a way to tarnish what should have been a perfect day for the Eagles’ fan favourite. The tricky winger later posted five racist messages he had received on Instagram on Saturday night. Before doing so, Zaha said he wanted action over the issue rather than sympathy.”I’m not here for all the nonsense that is being done instead of fixing the actual problem! This message isn’t for me to get a million messages saying we stand with you and it’s disgusting or about me getting sympathy. I don’t mind abuse because nowadays it comes with doing the job I do even though it’s not an excuse but my colour will always be the real problem, it’s fine because I’ll always be black and proud! Speak to me when you actually take this issue seriously.”Mchezaj WINFRID ZAHA amejikuta akiandamwa na jumbe nyingi zenye kukashifu au kubagua rangi yake,WINFRID alieleza maumivu yake kupitia Insta story, namna watu walivyo dhiaki WEUSI WAKE lakn yeye alisema mimi ni mweusi na nifurahi kuwa mweusi.#standwithzaha#stopracism pic.twitter.com/NkrwuBGUgd— Efrem fortunatus (@Efremngaleka) October 31, 2021 Zaha is also one of the players who decided against taking the knee before kick-offs of Premier League games. He explained that players “should stand tall” and that in his eyes taking the knee is “degrading.””Growing up, my parents let me know I should be proud to be black. We should stand tall. With taking a knee, sometimes people forget we have to do it. It is becoming something we just do. That is not enough for me.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Wilfried Zaha (@wilfriedzaha) Wilfried Zaha won’t take nonsense from anybody. He’s truly a modern legend. Speaking to The Jackal magazine two years ago, Zaha urged society to stop making excuses for those who are inexcusable.”Nearly every game I’m called a monkey or a n***** or a whatever. Imagine if I really got down about that? I don’t know if we’re animals to them or whatever. Why is this okay? Why are you saying these things right next to your five-year-old kid? And then, when you leave, what, you’re back to being a normal dad, working a normal job? People mask this stuff.”
