The 2009 league winners Sofapaka have beefed their defence with acquisition of the experienced David Otieno from Wazito on the final day of the player transfer window.Despite spending the better part of the window grappling to struck their name off FIFA’s red list, the club has managed to strengthen their squad after close to ten players left at the end of last season. The club had been locked from registering its new acquisitions and were only available for selection three rounds into the season.Perhaps after losing millions of shillings in compensation to their former foreign players who rushed to Zurich for justice, the Kennedy Odhiambo coached side shopped for local players and one foreigner.🚨 | TRANSFER UPDATE🗞️ | We are glad to announce that we have completed the signing of David Otieno ✍️ |Otieno joins on a two-year deal from Wazito 🤝 | Welcome David @betikaKe @OyandoRonny#BatotoBaMungu pic.twitter.com/vR1lVLwhMU— Sofapaka FC (@FC_Sofapaka) November 1, 2021 Otieno who penned a two year- long contract is expected to face stiff competition for playing time from Burundian international David Nshimirimana, Stephen Okola and Elvis Ronack.
