Kariobangi Sharks forward Felix Oluoch Mboya has admitted that he never thought he would get a premier league treble following his Sunday’s hat trick against Mathare United at Kasarani Stadium.Oluoch, an off-season signing from APS Bomet took his tally for the season to five goals after he scored three in the 6-0 mauling of ten-man Mathare United. Erick Mata scored two with Steven Ochieng scoring the other goal for the William Muluya coached team.In an interview, an ecstatic Oluoch admitted that he never thought that he would get a top-flight treble and is grateful for his first-ever hattrick.“I am really happy to score my first ever hat-trick, I never imagined that I would get three in the top tier and I want to thank God for the three goals and most importantly for the win because the team always comes first,” he told Mozzart Sport.| @FelixOluoch_ of @k_sharksfc is your Man of the Match.Hat trick Hero#MathareVsBandari #FKFPL pic.twitter.com/bvYFotVo5D— FKF Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) October 31, 2021Mboya is viewed as a replacement for Erick Kapaito who quit Sharks for Ethiopia at the end of last season. Kapaito was the leading scorer in the league last season with 24 strikes. Asked if he thinks he can match or break the Harambee Stars’ striker record, the striker said he has a target that he intends to hit but admits surpassing Kapaito’s record is a possibility.“My target this season is 17 goals; I have scored five already which means I have a deficit of 12. But I believe I can exceed that target with help from teammates. Kapaito scored 24 goals which is a lot of goals for one season but I cannot say that it is not possible to match or even break his record and so for me, I will keep working and see what happens at the end of the season but breaking the record is a possibility,” he added. On the importance of the win over Mathare United, the striker said it was important for them to bounce back after failing to win in their last two games where they registered a draw against Wazito before losing to Gor Mahia.I thank God and my teammates for our win and my Hatrick today#WeAreSharks pic.twitter.com/vSR36fY5FM— Felix Oluoch (@FelixOluoch_) October 31, 2021“It was important for us to bounce back after not winning in two matches. This boosts our morale ahead of our next assignments. It was also a thing to win the game with a good margin,” he concluded.Next for Sharks and Oluoch is a match against champions Tusker FC.
