It started badly for Richard Odada and it finished even worse for Serbian second-tier side Metalac Gornji Milanovac. The Kenyan midfielder was in starting eleven (as usual this season) against Napredak Kruševac earlier this evening, but was injured after only 20 minutes and had to leave. The match ended badly for Odada’s team, as Metalac suffered fifth defeat in a row (2-3) and are definitely in a relegation battle. What’s even worse is that Odada injured his adductor, and could miss the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Uganda on November 10th. Further tests will be conducted tomorrow, as Metalac plays their next game in four days against Radnik. The Kenyan midfielder decided to go on loan to another Serbian Super League team – Metalac from giants Red Star Belgrade, and found his rhythm there. Since moving from Red Star to Metalac, Odada played in 12 out of 15 Super League matches and was always a starter. And although Metalac is not in good form this season, and are currently in a relegation battle with only three wins in 15 matches, Richard can be satisfied with this performances.Kenya 0-0 Uganda; Richard Odada shines in players ratingsIn fact, former Harambee coach Jacob Ghost Mulee, as well as his successor Engin Firat, were also satisfied with the Kenyan, as they called him for the World Cup Qualifying games. Odada played in all four matches, and was perceived as one of the best footballers in the national team.
