Meja reveals areas he is sharpening ahead of his AIK move

Former Tusker forward Henry Meja has come out to reveal that he religiously reports to training with an intention of polishing his goal scoring skills ahead of his move to Swedish top tier side Allman a Idrottsklubben (AIK) Fotboll in January.Meja penned a five-year long deal with the club that doubles up as home to Harambee Stars left back Eric Ouma in September but could not immediately join them as the transfer window had been shut. Consequently, the budding goal poacher who won the deal courtesy of the thirteen goals he scored all competitions last season had to return to Tusker to keep fit pending the opening of the Swedish transfer window.BREAKINGTusker FC striker Henry Meja has joined Swedish top tier side, AIK on a five-year deal.He joins another Kenyan, Eric Ouma at the club#KenyansAbroad pic.twitter.com/85o4yjcvEq— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) September 3, 2021 The 19-year said he was sharpening his finishing skills in training as well as his working on his agility as he seeks to take the Allsvenskan by storm once he joins the rest in training. “There was no holiday for me at all as I had my pre-season preparations like the rest. I have been training as usual but my focus has been on improving my ability to bury the chances. I have also been working on my agility as European football flows faster and a player has to think and run simultaneously, ” he said.Meja who was named the Young Player of the past season predicted that he will have it easy in Sweden as he had adapted to AIK’s training methods thanks to the weekly online regime.” At least I have some knowledge on how they train and what is expected of me. Their trainer sends me a weekly program and always explains everything to me. I can’t wait to join the team physically and train with the rest,” he added.🗣️ “Jag är mycket glad över att jag får den här möjligheten. Nu ser jag fram emot att få visa vad jag kan inför mina lagkamrater och klubbens supportrar”.📸 @tusker_fc pic.twitter.com/NJW3ML6Twn— AIK Fotboll (@aikfotboll) September 3, 2021 The Harambee Stars striker joined the brewers early last year after impressing in the Cleophas Malala Super Cup but had to wait for his league debut in December where he came off the bench to score the winning goal against Gor Mahia. He earned a call up to the national U20 in October 2019 when coach Stanley Okumbi was preparing the team for the CECAFA Championship and made his U23 debut in July this year in a regional tournament held in Ethiopia.
