Captain Wanyama makes winning comeback for Montreal in the MLS

Former Harambee Stars skipper Victor Wanyama was once again thrust to the starting eleven as his CF Montreal side went in search of a first league victory after four winless games. Montreal welcomed Houston Dynamo at their home ground of Saputo Stadium early on Thursday morning. In the previous game played last Saturday, Wanyama was not involved at all as he watched Montreal succumb to a 1-0 loss against New York Red Bulls from the benches.##NAJAVA_MECA_5949693##However, in the match against Dynamo, Wanyama, who was immediately restored and handed armband duties, made his presence felt as he drove his team to a two-nil lead before being subbed off in the 67th minute.De retour dans le 11 🦁#CFMTL pic.twitter.com/o7LodTN9DE— CF Montréal (@clubdefootmtl) November 3, 2021 After a goalless first half between the two sides, French defender Rudy Camacho gave Montreal the lead in some exceptional style as he pulled Thierry Henry esque vibes in finding the back of the net in the 58th minute. From a corner delivered into the box, a goal mouth scramble ensued with Dynamo failing to deal with the danger. The defender, facing away from goal then instinctively squeezed the ball into the back of the net with a clever backheel that caught the goalkeeper completely unaware.Quel but important de Rudy Camacho. We finally have the lead. A goal that extended Montreal’s lead, sealed all three points and returned the team back to winning ways.Following the return to winning ways, Montreal jumped to eighth place on the log as they went to 46 points.Victoire Montréal 📈 Si on gagne dimanche, on est qualifiés pour les séries.
