KCB midfielder eyes a resourceful return

KCB’s midfielder Brian Rio Ochieng’ is looking forward to turning around his season with the Bankers after having a slow start following an injury he sustained in the barren draw to AFC Leopards in the second game of the season. With the injury, the former Kayole Youth midfielder has missed the last three games for the Zedekiah Zico Otieno’s side, the draw against FC Talanta, and the identical 2-1 wins against Sofapaka and Kenya Police. With a return seemingly imminent for the midfielder, he is upbeat that he is in a good shape to help his team continue with their current run that has seen them move up the log to seventh with eight points.”I am in good shape at the moment and I have been cleared for the game against Wazito and I hope that I can help the team continue the good performance so far. The injury derailed my season but I believe I will take it up from where I left and still try to strive towards my goals while helping KCB meet the desired targets for the campaign,” Rio told Mozzart Sport.🕜 | 57′ A double change for KCB FC Samuel Mwangi and Michael Oduor replace Brian Ochieng and Curtis WekesaKCB FC 0 AFC Leopards 0#KCBvsAFC#FKFPL pic.twitter.com/Js3PfSp6tF— FKF Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) October 16, 2021 With the international break on the horizon, Rio feels it will be an advantage to him at a personal level as well as to the whole team in that it will provide him with the time to work hard to reach the fitness levels of other players. It will also help the team reflect on their performance this season and correct areas that they errored in the games that they will have played before that break.”The break comes at a very good time for me as well as for the team. I am a bit behind in terms of fitness and I believe this break will give me the opportunity to put some extra effort to get to where they are. For the team, it will be a moment to reflect on how we have performed so far, look at what we have done well and what we need to rectify. The season started slowly for the team but we have managed to turn things around with wins in our last two games. We plan to continue getting the three points in our respective matches going forward,” he added.KCB will face off with Wazito on Friday at Kasarani Stadium starting at 1 PM.
