Ndung’u dreams big after netting first goal of the season

After netting his first goal of the season, Kenya Police FC forward Samuel Ndung’u believes that he has the mettle to clinch the ‘Golden Boot’ at the end of the season. Ndung’u needed less than ten minutes to give the league debutants the lead against Tusker on Wednesday at the Kasarani Annex.##NAJAVA_MECA_5955457##His goal was however not enough to guarantee the club its second win as the defending champions rallied to eventually win the match 2-1. In spite of the result not going their way, the forward says he will build on the performance he displayed against Tusker and chase for the boot.Samuel Ndung’u gives Police the lead against Tusker.#FKFPL pic.twitter.com/1bGExhK6ak— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) November 3, 2021 Ndung’u came close to the winning the National Super League boot last season but lost the battle to his teammate Cornelius Juma who by then was plying his trade with Mwatate United.“My job is to score and I am happy I am finally off the mark. The goal will certainly propel me to fight for the boot after I narrowly missed it in the second tier. I strongly believe that I have what it takes to get at least twenty goals,” he said.Ndung’u who joined Police from Kakamega Homeboyz was in the second half of the Tusker duel deployed as a left back and managed to contain the marauding wingers much to the satisfaction of coach John Bobby Ogolla. He however says he is more comfortable in the offensive part of the pitch.Kenya Police Fc’s Samuel Ndung’u in training action on Tuesday October 26th 2021 prior to their weekend fixture against KCB.#SamwelOgor#SamwelOgorSports pic.twitter.com/8qEpc6SFPe— Samwel Ogor™ (@SamwelOgor) October 26, 2021 “As a player I have to be ready for anything and to be played anywhere on the pitch but I prefer to be finish off the created chances,” he stated. The left footed attacker has previously played for AFC Leopards, Muhoroni Youth and Mathare United.
