Liverpool are close and Manchester City got closer after defeating the Red Devils. More good new for the two as Chelsea failed to beat the stumbled Burnley as part of matchday 11. Tuchel’s Blues seemingly had an easy task by playing the Clarets at home however – final score 1-1.Sitting 18th, Burnley were on a mission impossible visiting the English capital. Chelsea were not concentrated enough in the 80th minute and thus allowed a movie like surprise. Far from what Thomas Tuchel wanted in his pursuit after the Premier League trophy.Manchester is blue – Citizens are just too much for the unstable UnitedBlues came out stomping onto the grass of Stamford Bridge. In the first 20 minutes, chances came from Callum Hudson-Odoi, Reece James, Andreas Christensen, Jorginho, Antonio Rudiger and Ross Barkley. None of those were a goal thanks to Nick Pope – and lack of accuracy from the home team. The first palpable opportunity for the visitors happened in the 21st minute – Maxwel Cornet got to a rebound in front of goal and sent the ball towards the top left corner. However, he couldn’t beat Edouard Mendy, who showed his superb goalkeeping ability by pulling off a great save.Chelsea quickly came back to their dominance. Rudiger and James came close to scoring but were unable to send the ball passed Pope. But there was nothing the towering Englishman could do in the 33rd minute when Kai Havertz burst into the box to get on the end of a whipped in cross from James – the German scored magnificently from close range into the bottom left corner.Only Mohamed Salah (16), Michail Antonio (9) and Jamie Vardy (8) have been directly involved in more Premier League goals this season than Reece James (7 – 4 goals, 3 assists).Chelsea opened the second period in a similar manner. In the 50th minute, Thiago Silva joined all his teammates who weren’t lucky enough to score as his header ended hitting the right post.Havertz could have scored his team’s (and his own) second goal three minutes later but the ball flashed over the crossbar.Barkley wasted a massive chance in the 72nd minute – he had all the time in the world to direct the ball inside the net but put too much power behind it and sent it high in the stands.Unexpectedly, Chelsea stepped back and weren’t generating as many chances as they did in the first 70 minutes or so minutes of the match. And such an approach came back to haunt them in the 80th minute.Jay Rodriguez provided Matej Vydra with a nice pass inside the box. It allowed the Czech to finish with a precise effort into the bottom left corner. The best defence in England reacted awfully and Vydra’s goal was fourth Chelsea conceded this season.Even though the reigning Champions League winners still hold the summit on domestic front – performances like these are not something that can lead them to holding the Premier League trophy as well.PREMIER LEAGUE – Round 11FridaySouthampton – Aston Villa 1-0 (1-0)/Armstrong 3/SaturdayMan.Utd – Man.City 0-2 (0-2)/Bailly 7 og, Silva 45/Brentford – Norwich 1-2 (0-2)/Henry 60 – Normann 6, Pukki 29 pen/Chelsea – Burnley 1-1 (0-1)/Havertz 33 – Vydra 80/Crystal Palace – Wolverhampton 2-0 (0-0)/Zaha 61, Gallagher 78/20.30: (1.65) Brighton (3.80) Newcastle (6.25)Sunday17.00: (1.40) Arsenal (4.90) Watford (9.00)17.00: (3.05) Everton (3.25) Tottenham (2.55)17.00: (2.95) Leeds (3.40) Leicester (2.55)19.30: (4.80) West Ham (3.80) Liverpool (1.80)***odds are subject to change
