Mwalala predicts a tough game against former employer

Kakamega Homeboyz head coach Bernard Mwalala anticipates a really tough match when his team comes up against Bandari FC in an FKF Premier League match on Sunday afternoon at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega. The two teams have started the season strongly. They have both won four matches, Homeboyz winning all the matches they have featured in while the Dockers have lost one of the five they have played so far this campaign. The Sunday game will pit Mwalala against a side that he coached between 2018 and 2020. Yema Mwana, the new Homeboyz striker will also be coming up against his immediate former employer. Based on all these factors, the former Kenyan international says he anticipates a very difficult game against the Dockers.“This will be a very tough game. Bandari have started the season well just like we have, the two teams are only separated by goal difference although we have played a game less and as such there is really little to separate the two teams. Most of those players worked under me during my time there, they understand how I want my team to play and all these factors make this a very tough game on paper but we have prepared well, the boys are motivated and we are going for all the points in that match,” he stated.Friday preps ahead of Bandari visit pic.twitter.com/XiTe4sbOIp— Kakamega Homeboyz FC (@FcHomeboyz) November 5, 2021 Last week during the dramatic 3-2 win over Vihiga Bullets, Mwalala left out some three key players. Defender Erick Ambunya and midfield duo of Stephen Opoku and Stephen Wakanya were all rested and Mwalala says he will have the trio back for Sunday’s duel.“Opoku, Wakanya and Ambunya are all back. I rested them against Vihiga Bullets so that other players could get some playtime. Tomorrow we will have all our key players available for the match and it should be an interesting match to play and I am confident that the fans will enjoy too, “he added. The match will kick off at 1 PM.
