Redemption seeking Mathare out to pile more misery on sophomores Bidco

The 2008 league champions Mathare United will be looking to redeem themselves from a humiliating 6-0 defeat suffered in the hands of Kariobangi Sharks last weekend when they host a struggling Bidco United at the Kasarani Stadium on Saturday.Mathare were handed their biggest defeat of the season by the unforgiving Sharks and will be looking to capitalize on Bidco’s poor start of life in the season and get back to winning ways.Prior to the Sharks loss, Mathare had recorded back-to-back wins against Nzoia Sugar and Sofapaka setting a solid base for their march to the top five.FT: Mathare United 0-6 Kariobangi Sharks#MathareVsSharks pic.twitter.com/qEClXWZzQl— Mathare United FC (@MathareUtd) October 31, 2021 Ahead of the match, coach Ezekiel Akwana confirmed that his attacking midfielder Khalid Jumaan will follow Meshack Muyonga in watching the match from the stands thanks to an injury.##NAJAVA_MECA_5960636##Muyonga saw red against Sharks and in his absence, Akwana says former Wazito midfielder Jackson Juma will fill his void while Douglas Kibet is set to make his debut.”We were punished by Sharks due to the individual mistakes which we have corrected. The team was also at fault leading to some goals but we have worked on the weak areas. Jumaan is injured while Muyonga is suspended. The two will be replaced by Kibet and Juma respectively. We badly want to get back to winning ways and push towards achieving our targets, ” he said. While Mathare will be aiming to get back to their winning ways, Bidco will be hoping that lady luck will visit them and bag their maiden win of the season. The Thika-based did a double over Mathare last season, beating them 2-1 and 1-0 respectively, and have picked three draws and lost twice in their opening five matches. The club skipper Francis Oduor admitted that the pressure to get maximum points is piling on their shoulders but remained hopeful that the new tactics learnt in the course of the week will deliver a win.” We are under pressure to win our first game of the season. The cohesion in the team is good as we didn’t play as a unit in our previous matches. We do not any excuse left, all we have to do is to win the game,” the centre back said. The match kicks off at 1 PM EAT.
