And they say that Italian football is not so attractive and that the coaches only think about the tactics…maybe so, but when it comes to Derby Della Madonnina, all bets are off and we have witnessed a great and entertaining game with lots of chances between two teams which could go either way, but in the end, it ended with a draw: Milan – Inter 1-1. Two players who will not sleep well tonight are Frank Kessie and Lautaro Martinez. Milan’s midfielder was guilty of a stupid penalty after which Inter scored and also missed a golden opportunity for the win in the 90th minute. On the other side, Lautaro Martinez could have brought a win for his team on two occasions, but he missed the penalty first and then a great chance at the end of the first half. After this draw, Milan will be happier. Rossoneri are on top with Napoli, with 32 points and no defeats, and have already played against the biggest teams: Juventus, Roma, Lazio, and now Inter. On the other side, Nerrazuri have not closed the gap between them and their greatest rival, and still have 7 points less, with games with Napoli and Roma on the horizon. 32 – AC Milan have picked up 32 points in the opening 12 games of a season Serie A for their first time in the three points for a win era. Sturdy. #MilanInter— OptaPaolo 🏆 (@OptaPaolo) November 7, 2021 It started with possibly the most stupid penalty this season. Frank Kessie took the ball near his goal, but faced with attacks from Inter players decided to go back into his own penalty area where Calhanoglu took possession and Kessie brought him down. The Turk, who went from Milan to rivals Inter as a free agent, decided to take the penalty and scored the first goal of the game. But soon it was 1-1. Just as Kessie made a stupid mistake for Milan, it was Inter’s De Vrij, who rose above everybody else and scored a beautiful own goal in the 17th minute. But it didn’t stop there. 8 minutes later, another penalty for Inter. Darmian burst into the box and Ballo-Toure lunged in to bring him down, getting nowhere near the ball and the referee had an easy job. But, this time, Lautaro Martinez decided to try his luck and reserve keeper Tatarusanu saved it. Inter were still better and Nicolo Barella had an unbelievable chance, but Ballo-Toure redeemed himself a bit after that penalty and cleared the ball off the line. Seconds later, Martinez had another huge chance and basically missed an empty goal. Inter continued to press in the second half and had another big chance, but Calhanoglu missed it. In those moments it looked like it was just a matter of time before Inter scores, but in the end, it didn’t happen. In the last 20 minutes, after a couple of changes due to injuries and tiredness, it was Milan who took control and nearly punished all Inter’s misses. First, it was Ibrahimovic, who had a good free-kick shot, but unlike the match against Roma, he didn’t score this time. Then Saelemaekers had a beautiful shot, but the ball went to the post and rebounded off to Kessie who missed the goal in the 90th minute.
