A second cohort of twenty five coaches on Monday 8 November commenced their CAF B Licence coaching course in a four month program presided over at the Kenya Institute of Special Education by Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president Nick Mwendwa.Among the coaches in attendance in the second program of its kind include former Harambee Starlets assistant coach Jackline Juma who lauded the step to educate the personnel who will be tasked with nurturing upcoming talent in the country.“The Federation has done a commendable job investing in the capacity building of its coaches across the country. In the first group, Kenyan Internationals Musa Otieno, Doreen Nabwire, Bidco’s head coach Anthony Akhulia, and Harambee Starlets head coach Charles Okere were some of the beneficiaries that also brought together Uganda’s Women National Team head coach Faridah Bulega.Musa Otieno headlines CAF License B course attendeesPresident Mwendwa reiterated the Federations vision of nurturing sports talent from its roots in a bid to build talented footballers who can enhance the quality of football in the country.“Capacity building of our coaches has been one of our key agendas, and our purpose is to ensure our players have qualified personnel who can teach the proper skills and knowledge that will, in the end, see the talented footballers in our leagues and national teams, hence improving the quality of football in the country,” Nick Mwendwa said at the launch.The course is being facilitated by coach Salim Ali, KCB’s Zedekiah Otieno, Leonard Odipo, Twahir Muhiddin, and George Ondula.According to the federation, 4,000 coaches at the CAF D License level and over 600 coaches at the CAF C License level have so far been trained. The first group to take part in the CAF B License course will graduate in December.
