Having been a free agent coming into the transfer season, Cliff Nyakeya was one of the most sought after players but he opted to reunite with Francis Kimanzi at Wazito FC despite offers from various clubs. A move to his former side Gor Mahia where he turned out for the youth side in the past was on the cards but talks ultimately broke down with Nyakeya putting pen to paper at the Crypto-backed outfit. The 26-year-old admitted that he had a number of potential suitors but after pondering on his decision decided to continue his association with Francis Kimanzi.The sixth issue of the Wazito Monthly is out. I took my time to weigh each proposal. In the end, the proposal by Wazito was the best for me,”“They have a nice project going on here which I’m excited to be part of. I also like the professionalism with which they do things here. There are good players here and I think we can do something amazing this season,” said Nyakeya in an interview with Wazito magazine. The winger is however yet to rediscover the frightening form that saw him being named the Midfielder of the Year back in 2018 after notching 14 goals and six assists.Nyakeya who parted ways with Egyptian side FC Masr opened up on settling to life at Wazito and playing under Kimanzi who he worked under at Mathare United.
