Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano is hoping that the international break could not have come at a much better time for his side that are currently struggling to get into form in the 2021/2022 Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) season.Despite being the reigning champions, the side has failed to rise up to the occasion so far as they have been beaten in three out of their five opening league games. Additionally, but as expected, the club was also ousted from the CAF Champions League by Egyptian side Zamalek who condemned them to a 5-0 aggregate thrashing over two legs in the first preliminary round of the continental tourney.##NAJAVA_MECA_5968706##However, after their latest 3-0 defeat which came at the hands of a largely young and inexperienced Kariobangi Sharks side, the 12 time Kenyan champions were left with even more pressure as they fell eight points behind current table toppers Gor Mahia who lead the way on 14 points. The head coach confident that his newly assembled group can take a corner in terms of form by the team the league resumes on 19 November.“We did not play well and we were squarely beaten in that Sharks game. We have not been playing well but we are going to rectify these mistakes. In the international break, the players have to believe they can play we just have to work hard in order to change and to redeem our image,” the head coach remarked.Lion🤝Six Million Dollar Man. Asike has not been fully fit and did not even feature in the last match against Sharks. Mbugua had to be stretchered off after just ten minutes in that clash while Muchiri did not make it to the matchday squad after picking up an injury against Wazito.
