Arsenal left-back Sead Kolasinac had to leave the pitch after only 39 minutes today due to injury as his Bosnia and Herzegovina lost 3-1 to Finland in the vital 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers tie.The Gunners player – who’s seeking much more minutes in Mikel Arteta’s side – faced a severe tackle from the opposite defender and couldn’t even stand on his right leg. At the moment, it isn’t easy to foresee how long he’ll be sidelined, but it seems like not a mild injury at all. It’s interesting that the same thing happened to Kolasinac in early September, in the game against France. #Kolasinac was injured against France in pretty much the same way.Awful challenge pic.twitter.com/5Ze8bArdtu— BiHfootball (@BiHFootball) November 13, 2021 Before the injury, Kolasinac was one of his team’s best players, and albeit favourites, the Bosnians suffered a heavy blow without him on the pitch. They needed a victory to secure the play-offs, but without also injured Edin Dzeko, Bosnia failed to win at home against the 10-man Finish team. Norwich City forward Teemu Pukki even missed a first-half penalty but later put on a splendid performance that pushed his side to a magnificent victory. Let’s hope Edin Dzeko’s injury isn’t too severe 😥 pic.twitter.com/xRkjWAOYxu— ClutchPoints FC (@FootballOnCP) November 8, 2021 A former Barca and Juve midfielder Miralem Pjanic was way below the expected standards and was booed by the crowd when the coach decided to replace him in the second half with 2-0 on the scoreboard. After trailing by two, Bosnia, however, bounced back, finally scored the goal, and when it seemed they were on the road to a complete comeback, Daniel O’Shaughnessy killed the game with the third for his side. In truth, O’Shaughnessy was offside before reaching the ball, but, somehow, the referee allowed it despite the VAR consultancy.##NAJAVA_MECA_5974442##World champions France sit comfortably at the top of Group D, while Finland and Ukraine will fight for that one place in the play-offs until the end.2022 FIFA WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS – ROUND 9Bosnia & Herzegovina – Finland 1-3 (0-1)/Menalo 69 – Forss 29, Lod 50, O’Shaughnessy 73/ 20.00: (1.17) Norway (8.00) Latvia (20.0)20.00: (1.02) Turkey (27.0) Gibraltar (65.0)22.45: (11.0) Montenegro (6.50) Netherlands (1.28)22.45: (1.25) Wales (6.25) Belarus (15.0)22.45: (1.02) France (27.0) Kazakhstan (65.0)22.45: (1.03) Belgium (23.0) Estonia (55.0)
