Embattled Football Kenya Federation President Nicholas Kithuku Mwendwa has been handed a reprieve in his currently ongoing case after Magistrate Wandia Nyamu directed that the FKF President be released from custody on a bond of 7 million with two sureties or a cash bail of 4 million and two contact persons.After being arrested on Friday 12 November, the under siege boss was presented at the Milimani Law Courts on Monday morning to answer to charges filed by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations where Mwendwa is accused of fraudulent acquisition of Public Property and failure to comply with laws or applicable procedures and guidelines relating to the procurement and disposal contrary to section 45(2)b of the anti-corruption and economic crimes.In the hearing, DCI, through a submission made, were seeking to detain Mwendwa for a furter two weeks in order to allow conclusion of investigations being currently carried out on the football honcho.But with the final ruling of the case set to be heard on Wednesday 17 November, a decision to grant the bond or bail was made by the magistrate in order to allow ample time to make the final ruling of the case.However, the bond or bail granted came with their own terms should the FKF boss manage to make the payments. The bounds included:1. No accesss to his office or building that houses FKF2. No access to FKF workers3. No media relations4. No attending any football activities at all including the Harambee Stars game against Rwanda.
