Former Mully Children’s Family football club head coach Robert Orangi is delighted that his two-month old academy is slowly attracting numbers and the community is embracing his work. Orangi resigned as MCF boss with six rounds remaining in last season’s National Super League citing health reasons and opened the Kambi ya Moto Academy in Nakuru after the doctor gave him a clean bill of health. The soft spoken tactician while acknowledging the presence of untapped talents at the grassroots level disclosed that the academy had a total of fourteen players in the U-14 category and the U-18 had twenty eight players He said that the kids whom he hailed for their willingness to learn and hunger to make a career in football assemble at their training base after school hours and play friendly matches on weekends.##NAJAVA_MECA_5988648##”I opened an academy in Nakuru after leaving MCF. I requested the management of the club to let me go after my health deteriorated to an extent that I couldn’t spend sufficient time in coaching the boys. After recovery, I decided to open an academy and the progress is good thus far. The kids are grasping the basics with ease while the community from the feedback I get, they are impressed with the project, ” he disclosed. As soon as we have enough personnel in the technical department, I will be willing to coach in our two top leagues,” added the former Kangemi All Stars boss.
