Juventus are a club with one of the world’s most intricate scouting networks – and they are never asleep. They are scanning every club in every league for potential bargains and stars of the future. Their latest find is by no means an unknown player – at least not in South America. Julian Alvarez is leading the attacking line for River Plate, one of South America’s biggest clubs. The Buenos Aires club has produced countless Argentinean stars in the last century – and Alvarez is looking like one of the best players to come out of their academy lately. The powerful forward is often compared to fellow Argentinean Lautaro Martinez.ℹ️ | @SebasrurJuventus scouts will be at San Juan for Argentina vs Brazil match to scout Julian Alvarez. Even though the youngster had spent some time at Real Madrid’s academy nine years ago, the Madrid club could not complete the deal because the player was under age. The interest is high and a host of elite clubs would love to see Julian arrive in July 2022 or maybe even in January. Real Madrid remain in touch with the Argentina international due to their former link-up, but their focus is currently directed towards signing Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain.Monday, 03.30: (7.00) Platense (4.10) River Plate (1.50)The Cordoba-born player has had trials with both River Plate and their arch-rivals Boca Juniors in his younger days but it was the red and whites who have shown Alvarez he most faith. That wise decision led to them now having a $22 million-rated star on their books. However, Alvarez’s contract has got a release clause of $25 million. That is why River are trying to convince the player to sign a new deal with the club, one that would remove said clause and enable the Argentinean club a more favourable bargaining position.🚨| River Plate will only agree to sell Julián Álvarez if his release clause is triggered (€20m), no instalments. However the club want to renew him with a clause which allows him to leave for a European club. Real Madrid follows him very closely. @marca pic.twitter.com/ElX7GXId50— Madrid Xtra. If they give him the thumbs up, the club will likely swoop and trigger the release clause in January. The race is on – and it’s not just Juventus in the running.
