Juma hits the ground running at Bullets, raises defesnive concerns

Experienced tactician Juma Abdallah has hit the ground running at Vihiga Bullets and he says that he is getting to understand his players well ahead of the FKF Premier League resumption in a week’s time. The experienced coach joined Bullets a fortnight ago as a replacement for Evans Mafuta who was shown the door by the club after a spate of poor results. Bullets picked just one point in six matches under the former Silibwet Leos gaffer.Juma has been in charge of training sessions for just over one week and he says he has been getting to know his players better and is working towards improving the team before the league resumes.“For me, this has been pre-season because I am getting to understand the players and also getting them to learn how I want them to play, I can say it has been a learning process and we continue to learn. There is some progress but we are not yet, we have to keep working and fine-tuning things before the game resumes, this break is very crucial for us,” he stated.OFFICIALFormer Western Stima head coach, Juma Abdallah is the new Vihiga Bullets head coach. But I have noted that there are defensive problems in the team. That is an area that has to be addressed but because the window is closed we will have to try and work with those that we have and see if they can improve or we will go to the market in February,” he added. On the run of tough fixtures ahead, the tactician says it could make or break the team. He believes a win over a top gun could be the confidence boost that his team requires.“We have some tough games coming, there is KCB, Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards all lined up. These are definitely difficult games but it could build our confidence should we get a positive result in one or two of the games and so we are trying to look at it positively. We also have games against Nzoia and Mathare United and these are matches that we should strive not to lose,” he concluded.✍️CONFIRMED: Vihiga Bullets have sacked coach Evans Mafuta two months after taking reigns.
