With AFC Leopards currently cash strapped, Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja has promised to help the club secure another sponsor and opened up on why the club has struggled in recent years. Thank you so much for standing with the club.RegardsAFC Leopards NEC.#OursForever pic.twitter.com/6TpsYwf3o0— AFC Leopards (@AFCLeopards) November 10, 2021 Sakaja who chairs the standing committee on Labour and Social Welfare in the Senate noted that he is working round the clock to see Ingwe have another sponsor on board. “My focus is on a steady stream of income for AFC Leopards, they need to get a sponsor and that is in the works, I’m trying to help the executive committee to get that,” “Once you manage the team well and there are resources, the work of players will be to only win, you won’t have players coming while stressed and have not paid rent, they don’t have food and have no bus fare it becomes a challenge,” said Sakaja. Ingwe witnessed a mass exodus of players in the offseason transfer window with key players heading out of the exit door, most notably, Elvis Rupia, Robinson Kamura, Austin Odhiambo, Isaac Kipyegon, Harrison Mwendwa and Benjamin Ochan to name but a few.Sakaja revealed that he tried to aid the transfer of Elvis Rupia but the deal failed to materialize then adding that constant changes in the coaching staff and playing unit hurting the club.
